Impact

Travel that leaves places better.

Human-powered travel is low-impact by nature. We go further by measuring what each trip gives back, and publishing it.

The Impact Ledger

Three numbers on every trip

Instead of vague promises, each trip page will show its own Impact Ledger, so you can see where your money goes before you book.

%

Spend kept local

The share of your trip price that goes to locally owned guesthouses, guides, boats, restaurants and suppliers.

kg CO₂e

Carbon per guest

The estimated on-trip emissions per person: transport, accommodation and support vehicles.

US$

Community contribution

A set amount from every booking to a local conservation or community project linked to the places you visit.

We're setting up our measurement method with our first departures and will publish figures for each trip as they run.

Our commitments

How we travel

Small, practical choices on every departure add up.

  • Human-powered first: swimming, walking and cycling as the core of every trip.
  • Small groups: 8–12 guests, for less pressure on places and more connection with people.
  • Local by default: locally owned stays, local guides and local suppliers wherever possible.
  • Ocean-safe: reef-safe sunscreen, no touching marine life, and refill-not-buy water.
  • Leave no trace: on every trail, beach and reef.
  • Fair work: fair pay and proper training for guides and crew.

Why it matters to us

An ocean nation's perspective

We were born in the Maldives, where the ocean is home, livelihood and future all at once. Protecting it isn't a marketing line for us; it's personal. That's why the Kineo Blue Academy teaches ocean respect alongside technique, and why every trip, wherever it goes, is measured by what it leaves behind.

“The best way to protect a place is to help people fall in love with it, and to make sure the people who live there benefit.”
